MARSH DAISY Aster vahlii
|
Marsh daisies grow up to 35cm (13.8 inches) tall, have long narrow leaves and rosettes which might be up to 25cm (9.8 inches ) diameter, typical of daisies, with white petals and bright yellow centres. They are easily found while flowering between December to February, and ar most likely to be seen on damp camp whitegrass areas, wet sandy locations close to the sea and amongst rushes or dwarf shrub heath. They are less common than they used to be but are found on East and West Falklands (native) and are also widespread in Fuegia, Southern Chile and Argentina.
